How do you make sure only quality, professional voice artists are represented on the app?

We approached only the most reputable talent agents when setting up our database of artists. Freelance artists are also registered, regardless all artists' demos are vetted for professionalism prior to loading on the app.

Will you be able to search talent on this website?

Voice over talent can only be found using the app. talentplease was developed knowing that producers often need immediate access to a great cross section of voice demos. It also compliments agents' websites, by directing users straight there.

I don't have a iPhone, will the app be available on other mobile platforms?

Once we have locked down the features and are happy with the capabilities of the iPhone app we will look at other devices.

How long does it take to load new talent?

Once a demo has been approved and the artist is loaded in the database they will appear on the app. Updates are automatic and new artists are added daily.

Once I have the app on my phone, do I pay to keep it on there?

Version 1 is currently available for free download. Version 2 will be available from October 2010, and will include additional features such as 'Favourites', 'Shortlist' and the ability to send demo preview links to clients via email. This will be offered as a 30-day free trial.

Are professional voice-over artists at risk of being undercut by untrained amateurs registering with talentplease?

talentplease acts as a search engine providing access to represented artists through their agent and freelance artists directly. talentplease supports equity rates for artists, as set out on the MEAA website and here, and encourages artists and agents to maintain these rates.

How big are the voice demo files? Will it chew up my data allowance?

Most demos are 2-3 minutes. We reduce the files down to 2MB while still maintaining the sound quality. The app only uses data when streaming the audio files.

Most mobile phone business plans come with a sizable data allowance - 500MB on average. If you are producing five ads a week and want to listen to five voices for each that equals 25 x 2MB files. That adds up to 50MB a month - unless you use the office wifi!

Will you be continually updating the app with new features?

Absolutely. talentplease is an industry app so we will always make sure it is the best it can be. Let us know if you have any feedback.

How do the artists know if they get booked through talentplease?

If you are an artist registered with talentplease the best way to find out about any jobs is to ask your agent.

We are building reporting functions into the app and in future monthly reports will be available.

We are looking at tracking the number of times artists are viewed and their demos listened to, as well as click through rates to agent or studio contact information.
